• A reminder to all parent/guardians of the Norris Elementary Concert on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, which is this Wednesday at 2:00pm. The concert will be held in the front of the school, as long as mother nature works with us. The students will spend most of the morning practicing and preparing for the event. We look forward to seeing you all, and you are welcome to bring your lawn chair, otherwise we will have some chairs available as well.

A reminder that tonight is the last parent/teacher conference of the year. Stop in at your assigned time and see how your child(ren)'s year went and also be eligible for a door prize. We are giving away 12 door prize boxes or bags tonight. Remember conferences run from 4:00-8:00pm so if you need a ride to the conferences please call and we will pick you up so that you can meet with your teacher(s) at your assigned time. The last 4th/5th basketball game is tonight in White River starting at 4:15pm.

Parent/Guardian of 4th/5th Basketball Players,
The make-up game from April 6 is tonight in White River starting at 4:15pm. The last and final game is tomorrow (Tuesday, April 25) and is moved to White River as well. The student athletes will be leaving school at 3:15pm both days.

Parents/Guardians: Please make sure your child(ren) are to school on time on Friday, April 14, as we will be loading the bus at 8:10am to ride to White River for the Academic Rally day. The students will eat in White River and then be bussed back to Norris for the Oral Competition piece in their rooms at 2:00pm.

A reminder to all 4th/5th grade basketball player parent/guardians that tomorrow on Thursday, April 13, there will be games at the Norris gym starting at 4:15pm. There will be 3 games with the first at 4:15, 2nd at 5:00, and the final game at 5:45. There will be concessions available. A list of when your child plays will be sent home today with your child so you can make sure your here when they play since it will be a full house in the gym.

Good morning Parents/Guardians of Norris students: A reminder that tonight is the 3rd and final Parent Guidance.org mental health series. The title of tonight's program is "Helping Your Child Succeed- Three Parenting Styles." The program will begin at 6:00pm with a meal of Chicken fajitas with assorted fixings, black beans, cucumbers and celery, and strawberry cups. The program will begin at 6:30pm and each attendee will be eligible for drawing for door prizes. Hope to see many of you here and have a great day and enjoy the warm weather.

Today (Tuesday, March 14, 2023), the Norris 4th and 5th grade students will go to White River at 2:00pm to attend the pep rally for the Boys Basketball team. The students will ride the big bus home from White River as part of the transition to middle school plan. Therefore, the children will be getting home a little later than usual.

Please plan to attend our 2nd Mental Health Series at the Norris School on Wednesday, February 15 starting at 6:00pm with Super Nachos in the Cafeteria and the presentation at 6:30pm or you can join via zoom at home by registering at https://cookcenter.info/WhiteRIverFeb15
The session deals with Everyday Happiness. Learn to develop happiness within your daily routine. The course was created by Brett Williams, LMFT.
In this session, learn how to create change by developing positive thinking patterns. Session topics include:
1. Understanding the brain and change
2. What makes you?
3. What forms negative and positive patterns
4. Four steps to everyday happiness
There will be a drawing for door prizes for all people in attendance at Norris and White RIver.
Anyone needing a ride, please let the school know by 12:00pm tomorrow so that we can plan accordingly for pickup.

Thanks to all the parent/guardians that showed up and got to hear about your child(ren) and also helped with giving guidance to help the teacher help your child grow and prosper in their education.

Due to the forecasted high winds and possible snow tomorrow (Thursday, February 9), the 3rd-5th grade field trip to Pierre will be postponed until Thursday, February 23.

All families attending conferences will be put in for a drawing for the 4 door prizes that are like the picture shown. Please plan to attend and have a chance to win and also just for attending, you will receive a token of appreciation gift as well.

A reminder that today (January 23, 2023) at 2:00pm will be the Norris Elementary kindergarten parent day activity. All parents are invited to participate and make gingerbread houses with your child(ren). So today at 2:00pm is the Kindergarten paent day in the lunch room. See you then.

Parents,
With the current bussing situation at Norris, children from Corn Creek, Hilltop, or South of Norris may be taken home at around 3:00-3:15 to allow for the 3:40 bus run. The schedule of who goes early will alternate and the school will attempt to let families know when this will happen. Thanks for understanding and if you have any questions, please call the school.
