Hau Mitakuyepi, We will be celebrating Filipino Heritage and Culture. We will have a Filipino Concert in White River on Thursday, May 1st, at the Janklow building in White River at 2 pm. All the grades will be performing! Please come and support your child in their performance. Go Eagles!

Hau Mitakuyepi, we will be having the University of Wisconsin RN graduate students with us on Monday, April 7th, for half of a day! The RN students will be sharing information on good hygiene practices and how to prevent the spread of infectious viruses. This will be the third year UW has provided care-taking skills and basic life skills. Go Eagles!

The President of South Dakota State University, Barry Dunn, along with a team of doctorates and a group of Student-Teachers, will be here on Monday, March 31st. Along with the Rosebud Sioux Tribal President, Madam Kathleen Wooden Knife, in attendance. We will be having an honoring at 1 pm. All parents and community members are welcome! The Black Pipe Singers will be performing. We are collaborating with SDSU to promote teachers at Norris/Black Pipe School and our district. This will be the first University President to visit Norris Elementary! We are Black Pipe, Corn Creek, and Red Leaf strong, and Black Pipe, Corn Creek, and Red Leaf proud! Go Eagles!

Hau Mitakuyepi, We have a regular week of school this week, marking the start of the fourth quarter. We have nine weeks of school left before we dismiss for the summer. Parents, please continue doing a great job sending your children to school. The Black Pipe Singers did an awesome job representing the school, community, and school district in Sioux Falls for the Avera Corp. So proud of all the singers! Go Eagles!

Hau Mitakuyepi! We have a regular day of school on Friday, March 21st, 2025. Make-day. The day and buses will run as normal. So this is a full week for the students. M-F. Thank you parents for allowing Delta Dental to help the children. The end of the 3rd quarter is Friday, March 21. The Black Pipe Singers will be performing in Sioux Falls for the Avera Corp. (hospital) on Thursday and Friday, March 20-21st. This is a first of its kind pilot program to help with the Traditional enrichment for our Indigenous Hospice and terminally ill patients. We are honored and proud that we were selected to provide these services for our elders. We hope to build a lasting relationship with Avera Corp. and the Sicangu Oyate to help improve the care for our People! History in the making! Go Eagles!
