TUTORING OPPORTUNITY

WRHS students - TUTORING during In-Service on Friday, March 20, 2026. Take this opportunity to work with your teachers.

WRHS has daily mandatory tutoring for all students with 3 or more Missing Assignments during lunch. Lunch is provided for students.

WRHS Prom and Post Prom activities are scheduled for April 18, 2026. Prom and Post Prom Permission Forms are available in the principal's office. Students MUST have these forms signed and returned in order to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Peri Strain at 605-259-3136 Ext. 1101.

ACT Testing will begin on March 23, 2026 for all WRHS Juniors.
Juniors will be taking the ACT rather than Smarter Balance.

Mandatory Lunch Tutoring for students with three or more Missing Assignments. Lunch will be provided for students in the WRHS Library.

WRHS Registration: Students and Parents/Guardians are required to register in person.
Please call if you need to make special time arrangement.

Reminder: The MS/HS Spring Fine Arts program is tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Don Barnhart Gymnasium.

The 17th Annual Boys/Girls Great Plains Senior All-Star Basketball Games will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. The girls game starts at 6:00 PM. This will be followed by the dunk contest. The boys game is expected to start about 8:00 PM. During the half time of the two games, there will be a 3 point contest. The games feature Seniors from 18 different schools. Admission for adults is $6.00 and students is $4.00. The games will also be livestreamed on the YouTube TigerTV channel. Concessions will be available: Indian Tacos, nachos, super nachos, popcorn, candy, and drinks. This is a fundraiser for the boys basketball team. Doors open at 5:00 PM.

The White River Schools will have Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, April 25 beginning at 4:00 PM. This is the perfect time to meet with your child(rens) teacher to make sure they are on the right path for a strong finish to the school year. Students will be dismissed at 3:15 PM that day. There is no school on Friday, April 26th.

The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will be held on April 16th, 2024 at 7:00 PM in the Laura Kirsch Room. There will be 8 students being inducted. The National Honor Society is lead by Casey Krogman.

I would like to send a quick THANK YOU to Marc Marshall for being at all the events and taking pictures of our students in their activities. The pictures are being used in the Mellette County News, the yearbook, on the school website, and many more places. Many parents use the photos as well. What a keepsake! Thank you Marc for all the time and effort you put in to this treasure for the students of White River High School.
