
The high school boys game scheduled for today at Kadoka will be played with the girls as a doubleheader on Thursday, January 5th at Kadoka. Here's the schedule, these times are (CENTRAL):
3:30 pm JV girls
4:30 pm JV boys
6:00 pm Varsity girls
7:30 pm Varsity boys

Due to poor road conditions there will be no school for White River and Norris Schools today, January 3.

White River Schools will have a 10:00 AM late start tomorrow, January 3.

Please see the email below from the SD High School Activities Association:
Reminder - The Winter Moratorium is in effect from December 23 through December 26. No activities are allowed during this time.
a. From December 23 through December 26 annually, no contact may take place between student-athletes and their coaches. This period shall be known as the winter “moratorium.” This restriction on activity includes any team contact, individual contact, private lesson, open gym or other situation wherein coaches will interact with student-athletes in an activity setting for any SDHSAA-Sanctioned Activity wherein coaching, guidance, or supervision is provided.
b. Coaches must abstain from any activity with their student-athletes during this time that could fall under the auspices as previously listed in this section.
i. Clarification One – Coaches cannot schedule any team activity for their players, including camp participation, open gyms, conditioning programs, or outside entities providing instruction, during the December 23 through December 26 moratorium period.
ii. Clarification Two – Coaches must make every attempt to not participate in any situation that could fall under the definitions listed previously in this section.
iii. Clarification Three – Coaches and Schools must refrain from allowing non-school personnel access to facilities, equipment, or resources during the moratorium.
c. Student-athletes may attend camps, clinics, or programs on their own accord, provided that no involvement of the school or school personnel takes place.
i. Clarification One – Student athletes should not participate in any event organized by a member school during the moratorium, including open gym/field/road events.
ii. Clarification Two – Students may continue to attend non-member school-affiliated events during the moratorium, including strength/conditioning programs, individual camps or outside competitions.

Lastly, White River Schools will be closed tomorrow, December 21st due to the cold weather and potential blizzard conditions. No school tomorrow.
White River School District classes will resume again on January 3, 2023.

The Norris Elementary Christmas program for tomorrow has been postponed. Parents and guardians will be notified when a new date has been selected.

The White River School District will have a 10:00 late start tomorrow, December 19.
Please contact the school if you are not able to attend safely. We have many families dealing with different situations. Some people are still snowed in and some are not. We trust families to make the safest decision for their students.

The Lakota Nation Invitational is still expected to take place without interruption. Basketball teams, cheerleaders, artwork, and other participants traveled to Rapid City today at 1:00 to beat the snow. Stay safe and good luck at your events!
There will be no after-school activities this evening.
Tonight’s school board meeting has been postponed to Wednesday, December 28 @ 6:00 pm.
Finally, due to impending weather, White River School District classes for tomorrow have been canceled. We will plan to have a 10:00 am late start on Wednesday, December 14, weather permitting.

The Lady Tigers will play today at Stanley County, JV game with start at 4:00 pm (central) followed by the Varsity game. Stanley County will only be able to play two 7 minute quarters of JV, then Varsity will warm up and play.

B. Personnel matters of a controversial nature, which would include students, teachers, or other persons, shall not be discussed by the Board in open session with a school patron. A school patron may request an executive session with the Board. (An executive session may be granted at the Board’s discretion; and, only after the Board’s business is concluded. This is an accommodation to other school patrons who are attending this meeting.)
Anyone wishing to speak to the Board must be acknowledged by the Board Chairman. This will permit the meeting to be handled in an orderly manner.
