Dear Families,
We're thrilled to share some updates about our preschool program and how we're focusing on providing the best possible start for our youngest learners.
To ensure we can offer a high-quality and impactful experience that truly prepares children for kindergarten, our preschool program will be available to students who turn five years old before September 1, 2026. The families of these students should plan for their child to enter kindergarten during the 2026-2027 school year.
We know some of our younger families with three-year-olds may be interested in preschool as well. Unfortunately, due to current space and staffing limitations, we are unable to accommodate three-year-old students next year. This decision allows us to dedicate our resources to those children who will be entering kindergarten soon, providing them with a strong foundation in essential skills and a smooth transition to their next big adventure in learning.
Our program is designed to nurture their development in key areas, fostering their social-emotional growth, early literacy and numeracy skills, and a love of learning – all crucial elements for kindergarten success.
We understand this may be disappointing news for some families, and we truly appreciate your understanding as we prioritize kindergarten readiness for our rising five-year-olds. We are continuously evaluating our resources and hope to expand our offerings in the future when possible.
Thank you for being such a supportive part of our school community. We're looking forward to a fantastic next year of learning and growth with our preschool students!
Sincerely,
Louie Krogman, Supt.
