You may have noticed the new construction project in the Sweet Spot area of White River, north of the old SCLS building. The White River School District purchased the property in August, hoping it would become a secured area for the expanded fleet of SUVs, vans, mini-buses, and large buses used daily for transportation across the district. The property allowed the school some "breathing room" away from the congested main campus in the heart of White River and offered space to construct a new bus barn. On Monday, May 22, these plans finally began. Summit Contracting out of Platte, SD was awarded the bid and broke ground on a new three-stall bus barn. This will complete the new area known as the Tiger Transportation Center. The district is excited to use the space for all Tiger transportation, vehicle, and maintenance needs.
