Here are the three great novels we started with in reading class this year!
Sixth grade is reading Among the Hidden, a story about Luke Garner, who is forced to stay in hiding due to laws about how many children families can have. When he meets another "shadow child," he must decide if he is going to join her in her fight against the government control, or remain in the shadows forever...
Seventh grade just finished Planet Middle School, a novel in verse that describes the highs and lows Joylin experiences while trying to navigate middle school. We got to compare our novel to how Riley feels as she navigates growing up in Inside Out 2!
Eighth grade is reading Inside Out and Back Again, which is also a novel in verse. It follows Ha and her family as they are forced to move to a different country and face all the challenges that come with being forced to leave your home with nothing more than one bag of personal items.
We are close to being finished with ALL of our first novels, so new books will be coming soon! Can't wait to see the next adventures in store for us... 👀📚 (* insert Reading Rainbow theme song here* )
